Nefertiti: The Enigmatic Queen of Ancient Egypt

Few historical figures are as fascinating as Queen Nefertiti, whose name means "the beautiful one has come." A queen of Egypt during the 14th century BCE, Nefertiti ruled alongside Pharaoh Akhenaten, her husband, during one of the most transformative periods in ancient Egyptian history. Their reign is notable for a dramatic shift in religious and cultural practices, making it a subject of intense historical intrigue and speculation.

The image of Nefertiti that has captivated the modern imagination comes from her iconic painted limestone bust, discovered in 1912 by German archaeologist Ludwig Borchardt. This masterpiece, now housed in Berlin's Neues Museum, showcases her regal beauty, with a tall, flat-topped blue crown, delicate features, and an aura of serene confidence. The bust has become a symbol of ancient Egyptian art and a testament to her enduring legacy.

Our jewelry was created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the painted bust of Queen Nefertiti.
