This pin is inspired by Man Ray's solid gold sculpture of Lee Miller's lips, made after 1933. The Surrealist artist's Man Ray and Lee Miller lived together in Paris between 1929 and 1932, first as teacher and student, and later as lovers. After they split up, Man Ray used images of Lee Miller's eyes and lips as motifs in his photography, paintings, and sculpture.
