Seba, the star emblem, represented the star-gods or constellations in ancient Egyptian culture. In Egyptian mythology, the stars are known as the “followers of Osiris” and are associated with deceased spirits in Duat, the Underworld. The symbol was often used to decorate tombs and temples of pharaohs and queens. One spectacular example is in the Temple of Hatshepsut where the ceiling features a starry constellation on a rich, dark blue backdrop, evoking a sense of power and respect.
